Inky AI credits and usage
How Inky AI credits are counted, quoted, held and charged, including for work that did not finish.
What a credit measures
Credits measure Inky AI's work, not a fixed number of messages or products. The amount depends on how much there is to read and write and on any voice or image work. A short question uses less than a review of a large catalog. Turning speech into text counts, and so does the work you asked for; spoken answers, when you choose them, count too.
Credits pay for Inky AI only. They are not money, and they do not pay for garments, supplier orders or shipping.
Included and purchased credits
- Monthly included credits reset on the subscription's allowance date; unused included credits do not roll over.
- Purchased credits do not expire and are used after the included credits.
- Your balance shows what is available and what is held for approved work.
- Buying credits needs the billing owner's confirmation on the official billing screen. The payment has to succeed before the credits can be used.
Check the estimate before work starts
- 3.1
Check the store, the work you asked for and the estimate. Large analysis, bulk work and image generation get their own quote before they run.
- 3.2
Check the maximum credit charge. Simple chat also has a visible spending limit that you agree to.
- 3.3
Approve only the scope and the limit you want. Product prices, production charges and AI credits are shown separately.
- 3.4
While the work runs, some credits are held against the approved maximum. A hold is not the final charge.
- 3.5
Afterwards, read the itemized usage and see the unused credits released. The final charge stays within the maximum you approved.
Failed, cancelled or partly finished work
You are not charged for a request that was refused for lack of permission, a duplicate request, a look at your balance or Total Print Hub correcting its own error. A draft or analysis you asked for can use credits even when you decide not to publish it; that cost is shown before it starts.
If you cancel after work has begun, completed useful work can still count, within the approved limit; work not yet done is not charged. A partly finished job shows which finished stages counted. If an error of ours leaves you with no usable result, the charge is restored.
